Guided motorcycle tour package: Emilia-Romagna and the Motor Valley, 8 days

6 days on the go to discover the cuisine and hospitality of the Italian legendary vacation realm of Romagna among beaches, sea, nature and art, and the Motor Valley in Emilia.

This will be a motorcycling tour with a thousand faces, as is Emilia-Romagna, a land of motors, art and culture, devoted to hospitality and genuine food.

We shall travel the roads that have been the playground of the greatest champions, for the majority of them stem from this very land, among the colors of the Apennine mountains, the sea, and the Unesco sites of the Po Delta, Ravenna, Ferrara, Bologna, Modena, and Urbino.

We will have the opportunity to enrich the motorcycling spirit with a visit to the Ducati and Bimota factories, we will pass through Valentino Rossi’s realm Tavullia and the museum dedicated to Marco Simoncelli (SIC58). We will visit the Ferrari, Lamborghini and Ducati museums, and at the same time we will discover the food and wine excellences of Emilia-Romagna with a visit to a famous balsamic vinegar factory in Modena and the productions plants of the legendary Parmigiano cheese. We will walk in the historical footsteps of the Malatesta family, the Este family, Leonardo da Vinci in Cesenatico, Raphael in Urbino, and Dante in Ravenna and Gradara.

But as motorcyclists strolling through the motor valley, it is anyway the motorcycling spirit and roads that will take the lead while Unesco sites, art and culture will be the subject of in-depth or quicker visits  The latter ones will be presented and feasible after our arrival at the hotel, and/or for those who wish to delve deeper we can organize a  private extension at the end of the motorcycle tour of Romagna and the Motor Valley.

Main technical characteristics of this exclusive motorcycle tour

This motorcycle tour, which takes place between 0 and 1300 m of altitude, will be offered in several editions from April to November – so far scheduled in August – that assure the best combination, for us motorcyclists, of climate and road traffic.

The tour and the covered area
The tour focuses on the discovery by motorbike of the Apennines between Tuscany and Romagna and the Unesco site of Po delta park. The visits, mainly centred on the world of motors, between Ducati, Ferrari, Bimota, Lamborghini… will be accompanied by the discovery of the food and wine excellences.

Unesco sites along the way
This motorcycle tour focused on roaring motors as well as the roads of Emilia-Romagna and the fascinating landscapes of the Unesco site of river Po delta park, passes through at least five further Unesco heritage  sites: Ravenna, Modena, Ferrara, Bologna and Urbino.

Climate and clothing
This tour can be made from April to November, with the milder spring and fall temperatures to the definitely hot summer ones. Therefore, it is advisable to pair four-season technical clothing with some sweaters but also to prefer perforated protection gear during the summer. A swimsuit and towel, motorcycle plus “normal” shoes, a cable with padlock to tie helmet and jacket to the motorcycle are the main things you need to be able to this motorcycle holiday to the fullest.

A typical day ride
A typical daily ride is of 190-270 km (120-170 miles). The motorcycle tour starts at 9.00 am and includes a stop every hour with activities, always optional, or just for the pleasure. Each day ends with fuelling and arrival at the hotel around 4.30/5.00 pm.

Motorcycle rental
For this motorcycle holiday you can choose here from a large variety of Italian Ducati, Aprilia, Guzzi,  or BMW, Harley Davidson, Kawasaki… models for rent. Our advice, however, is to choose an agile and not too heavy bike for the challenging mountain roads. First come, first served.
