Italy Motorcycle Tour: Sicily – Italy, 10 days

8 full days of motorcycle touring between coast and charming inland villages in a unique, multi-faceted island!

A beautiful, astonishing and picturesque motorcycle tour with a mix of breathtaking coastal scenic roads and inland routes through astounding villages where time has forgotten to pass by, that have spawned hundreds of films. Sun-drenched Sicily, the largest island in the Mediterranean sea, is an incredible place that over the centuries has been invaded by all kinds of people, from the Greeks and Romans to the Arabs and Normans, making of it what it is today: a place with an incomparable and very eclectic culture that will give your motorcycle holiday a unique imprint. Amidst history and magnificent landscapes, the route will take in spectacular stops, such as a ride through the snows of Europe’s highest active volcano or among the temples of Agrigento’s famous Valley of the Temples. Not to mention Sicily’s characteristic beautiful markets, such as Catania’s fish market or Palermo’s district Vucciria, where the Arabian influence of the past is still felt.

A splendid journey awaits you, crowned by the discovery of unparalleled scents and flavors, with a rich traditional cuisine among the best in Italy and irresistible pastries, washed down with excellent, fruity wines.

Main technical characteristics of this exclusive motorcycle tour

To enjoy this holiday to the fullest, the motorcycle tour of Sicily can be done from March to November, possibly avoiding July and August because of the excessive heat (for those who, like us, use technical clothing) and the summer peak tourism.
This motorcycle tour includes 7 full days on the bike and a rest day in beautiful Syracuse. The route, made of  lots of turns and picturesque sightseeing stops, comprises  coasts and mountains at heights 0 and 1900 meters above sea level.
Climate and clothing
For this motorcycle holiday, the generally dry and sunny climate requires comfortable and cool technical clothing (daily temperature between 15°c° and 32°c).  A swimsuit and towel, motorcycle and comfortable “normal” shoes, plus a cable with padlock to tie helmet and jacket to the motorcycle are the main things you need to be able to enjoy and experience this motorcycle holiday to the fullest. Specifically the visits on the go, often of historical interest, such as the Valley of the Temples, take time and require walking under the sunshine.
A typical day ride
A typical daily ride is between 210-250 km (130-155 mi). The motorcycle tour starts at 9.00 am and includes a stop every hour with activities, always optional, or just for the pleasure. Each day ends with fuelling and arrival at the hotel around 4.30/5.00 pm, to have enough time for self-contained sightseeing or a relaxing poolside aperitif.

Guided motorcycle tour of Sicily, package price
starting from 3,250 euro in a shared double room with accommodation in 4-star charming and classy hotels in central / panoramic locations.

Motorcycle rental
For this motorcycle holiday, there is a limited availability of motorcycles for hire in Sicily. It is therefore critical to book timely. First come, first served.
